Bote has been out with a separated shoulder since May 29. He's hitting .201 with five homers, 23 RBIs and a .620 OPS in 49 games this season.
The Cubs optioned right-hander Trevor Megill to Triple-A Iowa in a corresponding move. He has an 11.57 ERA in seven appearances for the Cubs this season.
