Hermosillo, 26, is hitting .194 with three homers, seven RBIs and a .737 OPS in 16 games.
Chicago promoted outfielder Nick Martini from Triple-A Iowa in a corresponding move. Martini, 31, was 1-for-12 in 12 games for the Cubs earlier this season.
