Ben Standig on the Commanders win, long snapper issue with Kevin Sheehan

Ben Standig joined Kevin Sheehan to discuss Washington's 35-33 win over the Denver Broncos and what was the most impressive aspect of the Commanders' Week 2 game.

The conversation began with Sheehan and Standig discussing the long snapper Camaron Cheeseman, whom Washington selected 225th overall selection (Round 6) of the 2021 NFL Draft after giving away a 2022 fifth-round pick to select the long snapper (and William Bradley-King), who appears to have a reoccurring issue with getting clean snaps out.

Washington worked out Tucker Addington, Jake McQuaide, Bradley Robinson, Rex Sunahara and Carson Tinker, but, like Standig predicted, Washington decided not to move on from long snapper at this time.

When asked about ranking the most impressive aspect of the win on Sunday, Standig went right to the defensive line, which is the strength of the team, but never a bad answer, especially after they had an "imposing" performance in the Mile High City.

Next up, Eric Bieniemy for his effective play-calling, especially his feel with when to call for a screen pass and "they did that a lot" and also the play of quarterback Sam Howell who made two really good throws on touchdown passes.

Hit the audio player above to get the full conversation, including whether Ron Rivera made a mistake sending out Joey Slye to attempt a 59-yard field goal in the third quarter and if it was the right call to go for it on 4th-and-goal in the first half.
