The Washington Commanders have begun the process of replacing Scott Turner as Ron Rivera begins to interview candidates for the team's vacant offensive coordinator position.
The team announced Tuesday morning they will be interviewing Pat Shurmur. And it has been reported that the team has requested permission from other teams to speak with at least three other candidates.

Washington has requested to interview Atlanta Falcons quarterbacks coach Charles London (according to the Washington Post's Nicki Jhabvala) and Miami Dolphins quarterbacks coach and pass game coordinator Darrell Bevell (according to Josina Anderson).
Update Jan. 19: The Commanders announced they are interviewing Charles London on Thursday.
Update: Jan. 18: The Commanders announced they interviewed current quarterbacks coach Ken Zampese. It was reported Wednesday, Darrell Bevell turned down Washington's request for an interview.
And ESPN's John Keim reported the Commanders are interested in speaking to Dolphins associate head coach and running backs coach Eric Studesville and have requested an interview. Keim also notes Jim Caldwell and Frank Reich are possibilities, but both are going to interview for head coaching positions before they interview for any coordinator roles.
Shurmur, 57, was most recently the offensive coordinator in Denver (2020-2021). He has twice served as a head coach, with the New York Giants (2018-2019) and Cleveland Browns (2011-2012).
London, 47, has served as the Falcons QBs coach since 2021. The 14-year NFL coaching veteran was the running backs coach with the Chicago Bears (2018-2020) and Houston Texans (2014-2017).

Bevell, 53, joined the Miami staff after he was offensive coordinator and then the interim head coach of the Jaguars after Urban Meyer's firing during his one year in Jacksonville. Bevell got to hold the interim head coaching title in Detroit after he was elevated from offensive coordinator in 2020 following the dismissal of Matt Patricia.
Before that, Bevell was the OC in Seattle (2011-2017), offensive coordinator (2006-2010) and quarterbacks coach (2003-2005) in Minnesota, and assistant quarterbacks coach (2000-2002) in Green Bay. He is also interviewing for the New York Jets' OC job.
Studesville, 55, joined the Dolphins in 2017 as running bacsk coach and run game coordinator. He was with the Denver Broncos before that working as running backs coach (2010), interim head coach (2010), and offensive coordinator and RBs coach (2011-2016). The 55-year-old began his NFL coaching career in 1997 with the Chicago Bears.
