Josh Harris described the packed NFL calendar during his first full offseason as the owner of the Washington Commanders as "drinking from a fire hose" as he blew out the last staff hired by Dan Snyder and brought in GM Adam Peters and HC Dan Quinn, who appear prime to add a new quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft at the end of April.
In comments to local reporters at the NFL Annual Meeting, Harris said the meetings were "super productive" and referenced the $86.5 million funding loan they secured for stadium upgrades at the facility formerly known as FedEx Field.
But when it comes to the new home for the franchise, the possibility of returning to the old home at the RFK Stadium site remains a topic of conversation for the owner.
“We’re in deep discussion with Maryland,” Harris said, “but at the same time, we’re continuing to pursue the possibility of having a site at RFK.”
There was also a conversation about remodeling the practice facility in Ashburn, with Harris saying he's "not an F-" guy in regard to the poor grades Washington received in the latest NFLPA survey. "We're trying to make a lot of changes there quickly," he said.
After hearing from the new owner, Craig Hoffman offered his take on the situation encompassing the practice facility and a permanent home for games. Hit the audio player above for all of that!
