Doc & Lynnell debate if Sam Howell's performance during early part of Commanders training camp matters

Lynnell Willingham, who has been spending a lot of time at Washington Commanders training camp, has some thoughts about quarterback Sam Howell's performance during the early portion of camp.

"While it's great what we're seeing right now, and it's been a lot of up and down in terms of the offensive side of the football," Willingham said, "next Friday, in Cleveland... I'm just so curious to see the young gunslinger Sam Howell. I'll be honest, it hasn't been perfect by any stretch of the imagination. You expect that when you have a young quarterback learning a new system, and it's wordy and there's a lot of different formations and personnel groupings, it's a lot on his plate right now."

And Doc Walker had to chime in, "I listen to people all the day, you nit-pick this guy who's learning a new system... what you guys do is say 'Oh, he was this,' 'he did all that.' What do you expect? How is he supposed.. you ever seen a chef in a kitchen prepare a gourmet meal? You know how many things he tastes and spits out? It's a process. You can't eveluate every step of it."

The fireworks of the conversation about Howell and the Commanders offense start at around the 11:45 mark on the audio player above.
