Ben Standig on how Commanders came to hire Dan Quinn, Kliff Kingsbury on Kevin Sheehan Show

The Washington Commanders made their first big hire of the Josh Harris ownership era in Adam Peters, who appeared to be their top choice for the general manager job.

However, the search for a new head coach after firing Ron Rivera didn't result in the hiring of their top candidate as reporting in The Athletic indicates the Commanders' search committee pivoted from Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson (who stayed in Detroit) and Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald (who took the Seattle Seahawks head coaching job).

Ben Standig, who co-authored the piece in The Athletic, joined Kevin Sheehan to discuss the hiring of Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn to succeed they recently fired Ron Rivera, the Commanders' search committee not being wedding to just one candidate in that process, and the hiring of Kliff Kingsbury as offensive coordinator and Joe Whitt Jr. (who followed Quinn from Dallas) as defensive coordinator.
