Kevin Sheehan: Dan Snyder being gone means Washington fans can rejoice

"Are you euphoric? Are you beyond excited? Are you reserved?" Kevin Sheehan asks Washington Commanders fans just days after Dan Snyder officially announced he will sell the franchise he has run since 1999 to a Josh Harris-led consortium of 17 other people.

Sheehan wonders what is next for the franchise once Harris takes over for Snyder, will fans come back in droves, and will some who had no interest in joining the party? It is time to take the temperature of the Commanders' fan base on their expectations and their reaction to the official news that a long-desired change in ownership was finally happening. "Dan is gone, it's a new day," Sheehan said.

"Dan Synder will go down as one of the most despised Washingtonians in the history of this city," Sheehan added. "Name someone who's even at his level. So there's real repair that needs to be done. Cause there was real damage that was done."

The bottom line is, "No one will ever buy a sports team and have a honeymoon period like Josh Harris and his group will have. And it's because... the real story, for now, is Dan is gone."
