Kevin Sheehan warns to not be so swayed by Pro Days

LSU, North Carolina, and Washington had their Pro Days this week, so the Commanders and other teams near the top of the Draft got another look at their QBs this week.

But, just as you heard Logan Paulsen say with the Junks Friday morning, so too says Kevin Sheehan: it’s a nice thing to watch, but don’t get too swayed by what you see at Pro Days, even as Brian Kelly says Jayden Daniels would be a good fit in Washington.

“I watched much of Daniels and Drake Maye’s Pro Days, and it’s not worth much – there is much more of a valid opinion formed by anybody watching these guys play games,” Kevin said. “Even that opinion is without a lot of very valuable information, but to me, if you really liked a guy going into his Pro Day, there’s no way that opinion would change after the Pro Day.”

Daniels’ was not great in some eyes, in particular, but there’s so much other tape, and so much we don’t see that the teams do in meeting the players.

“I remember the reactions to Bryce Young’s Pro Day last year about him being small, and it didn’t scare the Panthers,” Sheehan said. “With these Pro Days, you’re not getting anything alarming. I thought Maye looked the part, but I’ve watched most of their games – and there are some opinions that make it clear people didn’t – but to me, I feel like Daniels is the guy that just does things a little better. But what matters is how they project at the NFL level, and who they are as people, which we don’t know.”

Take a listen to Sheehan’s entire rant about what to take out of this year’s Pro Days above!
