Kevin Sheehan doesn't think Commanders, Adam Peters will make a big splash in free agency

In a year when many NFL teams have a lot of money to spend with the salary cap exanding, no team and no general manager has more money to play with than the Washington Commanders' Adam Peters.

But Kevin Sheehan doesn't expect Peters and the Washington brain trust, despite having so may holes to fill on the roster to make any big or splashy moves with the around $90 million they have to spend.

Sheehan doesn't claim to have any insider information but is doing some listening and reading between the lines on what the team's brain trust has said publicly that they want to build through the NFL Draft.

Another reason: Josh Harris paid $6 billion for the team and needed 20-plus investors to get the deal done and took on some debt. But it is very possible that the acquisition of the team – and Harris has said it was a struggle to buy the team – and the money the ownership group had to spend to maintain the stadium and push through those upgrades, the owner might not be in a mood to spend big in the free agent market. Plus, a little later, Sheehan and producer Denton Day play a game of QB Musical Chairs to predict landing spots for top quarterbacks this offseason. Listen to that segment from the Kevin Sheehan Show on the audio player below:
