The NFL Combine is in the rear-view mirror with plenty of storylines to discuss and the league's competition committee is discussing a host of potential rule changes for the 2024 season, including banning hip-drop tackles and making some XFL-inspired changes to the kickoffs.

The Athletic's Mike Jones joined the Kevin Sheehan Show to discuss these topics. It started off with the thought that the Combine could change drastically in the coming years as the top quarterbacks have stopped participating in numerous drills and Caleb Williams, the presumptive No. 1 overall pick, didn't participate in any medical exams ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft.

While the NFL teams might not be seeing much value in the Combine with Jones saying some teams aren't sending the full delegation they once did, the event is now such a money maker for the league, it likely won't end, but could there be a possibility that they have to pay players to perform at the scouting combine?

That conversation starts on the audio player above and continues on the audio player below after Jones experiences a phone issue. Listen to the conclusion here including why coming out of the combine, this could be a really, really deep offensive line draft class, which would be music to Washington Commanders' fans:
