As the countdown to the official end of Dan Snyder’s tenure continues, Chris Russell continued his celebration of the end of the “Snyder error” by ranking the five situations Snyder ruined more than any others in his time as owner.
“There’s more than five,” Russell said. “But I settled on five.”
So, from fifth to first, here is how Russell ranked them:
Five: “Trent Williams, the handling, the fiasco, the bitter feelings, the contract holdout, the everything.”
Four: “How about the stadium? You got three municipalities, and nobody wants you. Virginia kind of wants you, but even they got cold feet, because you couldn’t stop getting into trouble.”
Three: “How about all of the women’s lives that they threatened, harassed, made uncomfortable, and created a culture of fear and intimidation? How about all of that, where their lives were, and are still, inevitably changed?”
Two: “How about Mike Shanahan’s career and possible Hall of Fame status. Mike is a semifinalist in the coaches category. Maybe he’ll get in one day…but Dan Snyder helped ruin his legacy.”
One: “This is what I settled on for No. 1: the fanbase. Five situations that Dan Snyder ruined in his 24 years of ruination, he took a fanbase that was millions of people, locally and nationally, and internationally, that…was 91,000 strong at FedEx every Sunday.”
