Kevin Sheehan: What's single most important addition Commanders make this offseason?

This is a big offseason for the Commanders. This is the biggest offseason for the Washington football franchise in years. Dan Snyder is gone. Josh Harris is in and the team is going to be operating with about as close to a tabula rasa – a clean slate – as possible in the NFL. All of that led to this question from Kevin Sheehan: The most important Commanders offseason addition is... a) head of football operations, b) head coach or c) the quarterback at No. 2.

Sheehan opened up that question to his followers on Twitter:

The overwhelming answer from Washington fans was head of football ops with 62.1% of the vote, edging out quarterback (22.2%) and HC (15.7%).

Sheehan agrees with the results of the poll. "For me, I have wanted a real footbll decision-maker, footbll authority in the franchise for so long. I have been talking about it for so long. That's the No. 1 answer for me," he said. "I'm just surprised it was by such a wide margin because it's not the easiest question to answer.

"There are very good presidents of football ops, GMs in the league that are running organizations that are not sustained winners because they don't have the right quarterback. And to me, the second most important addition on this list would be the quarterback. Now that's a hard thing to get right. It's probably easier to get the head coach right than the quarterback."
