Washington selects Minnesota CB Benjamin St-Juste in third round (74th overall)

The Washington Football Team selected Minnesota cornerback Benjamin St-Juste in the third round of the NFL Draft on Thursday.

The 74th overall pick in the draft, St-Juste is a Quebec native who stands at 6 feet, 202 pounds with no interceptions and 11 passes defensed in three collegiate seasons.

According to his NFL.com draft profile, St-Just was the second-best recruit out of Canada in 2017, when he originally signed with Michigan. He played 12 games as a backup that season before red-shirting and transferring to Minnesota.

St-Juste started nine of his first 13 games with Minnesota, gathering 45 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and 10 tackles for loss. He started five games in 2020 with 14 tackles and one pass defensed.

St-Juste is described as having "elite size and length" for the outside and experience in a variety of coverage schemes. His NFL.com profile also says he's quick to close and tackle on first- and second-level catches.

Washington still holds another third-round pick (82nd overall) on Friday. Rounds 4-7 are scheduled for Saturday beginning at 12 p.m. It selected Texas offensive tackle Sam Cosmi in the second round (51st overall) and Kentucky linebacker Jamin Davis in Round 1 (19th).
