The 2021 NFL league year has officially started. Teams can officially sign free agents, trades become official, and franchise-tagged players will be added to the team books.

Teams could officially begin negotiations with free agents as of 12 p.m. ET on Monday, when the legal tampering period began. The Washington Football Team had the sixth most available cap space, about $39 million, at its disposal.

We’ll be monitoring all the latest moves, keeping track of reported signings involving the Washington Football Team here.

Washington Football Team Free Agent Signings:

WR Curtis Samuel

Former Panthers wide receiver Curtis Samuel has signed with the Washington Football Team on a three-year, $34.5 million deal. Samuel played with WR Terry McLaurin at Ohio State and was drafted in the second round in 2017 by Ron Rivera in Carolina. In 2020, he hauled in 77 catches for 851 yards and added 200 yards on 41 carries with five total touchdowns.

OT David Sharpe

The Washington Football Team is re-signing offensive tackle David Sharpe on a one-year deal, per Adam Schefter. Sharpe appeared in 10 games for Washington in 2020, making two starts.

RB Lamar Miller

Running Back Lamar Miller is returning to Washington on a one-year deal, per Ian Rapoport. Washington first picked Miller up toward the end of the 2020 season, signing him off the Bears' practice squad in mid-December. Miller turns 30 in April.

CB William Jackson III

With Ronald Darby departing for Denver, Washington signs cornerback William Jackson to a three-year, $42 million deal. The 28-year-old corner has three career interceptions with one defensive touchdown, and registered 45 total tackles and one TFL for the Bengals in 2020. Jackson was a first-round pick (24th overall) by Cincinnati in 2016.

QB Ryan Fitzpatrick

QB Ryan Fitzpatrick has agreed to a one-year, $10 million deal with the Washington Football Team that could grow to $12 million with incentives.

K Dustin Hopkins

Washington has reportedly re-signed kicker Dustin Hopkins. According to a report from 106.7 The Fan’s JP Finlay, Hopkins will be remaining in Washington for his seventh season. Washington signed Hopkins to a one-year veteran qualifying contract worth $2,462,500, including $1,887,500 fully guaranteed, per Tom Pelissero.

Hopkins struggled in 2020, converting on just 27-of-34 (79.4 percent, a career-low) of his field goals and 30-of-32 (93.8 percent) of his extra points in 2020.

QB Kyle Allen

Last week the Washington Football Team tendered exclusive rights free agent quarterback Kyle Allen. Allen will count for just $850,000 against the 2021 cap.

Guard Brandon Scherff

Washington used their franchise tag on veteran guard Brandon Scherff for the second-straight season. Unless the two sides can work out an extension, Scherff will cost the team $18,036,000 against the salary cap.

QB Taylor Heinicke

Taylor Heinicke and Washington agreed to an incentive-laden two-year contract extension valued at around $8.75 million in early February. The deal will count for $1,593,750 against the cap for 2021.
