The Washington Football Team isn't known for showing out in nationally televised games. As a matter of fact, it's known for quite the opposite.
Washington dragged a miserable primetime reputation into last season, with a 2-15 record on Monday Night Football dating back to 2008.
It only got worse from there. Washington added to its misery in 2019, getting blown out 31-15 by the Bears on Monday Night Football and falling 19-9 to the Vikings on Thursday Night Football.
Something is in the air in Washington in 2020, as the Football Team has now won consecutive games on national television. Monday's 23-17 victory over Pittsburgh — although not technically primetime, but still nationally televised on FOX — follows Washington's 41-16 blowout win over Dallas on Thanksgiving Day.
Suddenly Washington is known for putting on a good face with the most eyeballs watching.
And to the victor goes the spoils.
Chase Young, a key contributor on Washington's incredible goal line stand in the second quarter, earned himself a shoutout from the King himself after the win.
Young wasn't the only Washington player to receive noteworthy praise. Alex Smith, who muscled through his own Curt Schilling bloody sock moment, garnered the attention of NFL stars Frank Gore and J.J. Watt.
Could not be happier for my brother Alex Smith 🙏🏿 https://t.co/h9iETJglOd

Perhaps under a new name and new leadership in Ron Rivera, Washington is deserving of a fresh set of downs. The Washington Football Team is now 2-0 in primetime, dating back to 2020.
