The Washington Football Team is reportedly in agreement on a contract with speedy free agent wide receiver Curtis Samuel.
The deal is for three years and is worth $34.5M, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported.
Samuel, 25 in August, is set to join Washington after four years with the Carolina Panthers. The Ohio State product recorded career highs in catches (77) and yards (851) last season, his first under new head coach Matt Rhule.
The move marks the third notable transaction for Washington in recent days, coming on the heels of the signing of veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and cornerback William Jackson III.

By signing Samuel, Washington bolsters a receiving corps that is relatively thin behind emergent star Terry McLaurin. (The two were teammates at Ohio State.)
Samuel has 185 catches for 2,087 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 11 yards per reception in 53 career games, 32 of them starts. The native of Brooklyn, N.Y., was drafted in the second round in 2017 by Carolina under head coach Ron Rivera. The high school track star also has 72 career rushing attempts for 478 yards, good for an average of 6.6 yards per tote, and five touchdowns.

The reported deal comes on the same night that the division-rival New York Giants were said to be engaged in serious contract talks with former Lions standout Kenny Golladay, who, along with Samuel, was thought to be one of the top remaining wide receivers in free agency.
