I love sharing my family's recipes and I love cooking them for other people. But, I also love other people's family recipes because they just hit differently. When someone makes you something from their childhood you can literally taste the love and comfort. My friend had a bunch of us over for the Bills game and said I'm making my grandma's Slush Cake for dessert. I had never heard of it but was excited for a dessert, period. Let me tell you, I had no idea what I was expecting but this was delicious. It was like a pudding but with a pie-like crust. I said, "I need this recipe and I need you to let me share it." Sarah, having already contributed to Liz's Kitchen said, of course. So please enjoy this delicious family dessert.

Instructions
1) Mix together & press down firmly on a 13x9 ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees and then cool:
1 cup flour
1 stick (semi0sweet) margarine
1/2-3/4 chopped walnuts (my friend used pistachios)

2)Beat together and put on 1st layer
1 8oz soft cream cheese
1 cup confectionery sugar
1 1/2 cups cool whip

3)Mix 2 packages of Instant Chocolate Pudding with 3 cups cold milk and beat on high speed until thick.

4) Spread over cream cheese layer.

5) Add additional cool whip on top of the pudding layer and dot with chopped nuts and cherries. Refrigerate for at least 6 hours.

Note: If using 2 different flavors of pudding, add 1 1/2 cups of milk to each package of pudding.
