Normally I'm sharing recipes that I can't get enough of but this one comes from a different place. I was looking through Grandma George's recipe box and came across this recipe from Kathleen Brawley (want to make sure I give credit) and I did a double take at the ingredients. Could all of these things taste good together??? I put it to a vote on Instagram and everyone said to give it a try. Here's what I think - it would be great over rice or mixed in with noodles, like a pasta salad. It was tastier than I thought it would be and I was pleasantly surprised. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
Ingredients
2 lb carrots - cooked, drained, sliced and cold (I used canned)
1 lg onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 8oz tomato sauce
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup salad oil
3/4 cup vinegar
1/2 tsp salad mustard
2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
dash black pepper and salt
Instructions
Pour tomato sauce, sugar, oil, vinegar, mustard, and Worcestershire and whisk together. Add carrots, onion, and pepper and toss. Let marinade and chill. Serves 12.
