This is probably one of my mom's favorite recipes. I was able to get the handwritten recipe from my Grandpa put on a tea towel for her and she treasures it. My grandpa could do almost anything and he has provided some of our favorite family recipes and staples on all holidays. I hope you enjoy it as much as she does!
Ingredients
2 Cups Applesauce
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
2 Teaspoons Baking Soda
2 Cups Sugar
3/4 Cup Butter
3 Cups Flour
1 Teaspoon Allspice
1 Teaspoon Nutmeg
1 Box Raisins (10-ounce bag)
1 Cup Walnuts, Cut up
2 Eggs
Instructions
Cream the butter and sugar, then beat in the egg. Slowly add the dry mixture then a little applesauce and continue to mix. Add the raisins and nuts at the end. Then pour batter into a greased and floured pan.
