I was recently gifted a recipe box from Grandma George and it was full of recipe treasures. Some classics and some I have never seen before. This recipe was from Alice Daniels and let me tell you, it's delicious. It's everything you love about Strawberry Shortcake but all in one. You get this sticky, crunchy crust that you can't explain why you love it, but you love. The cake itself is so full yet light, and the sweetness of the strawberry runs throughout. I've never had anything like it, yet it tastes so familiar! I hope you enjoy it.

Ingredients
1 cup miniature marshmallows
2 cups (you will need 2- 10 oz bags to get to two cups) of frozen sliced strawberries completely thawed
1 pkg, (3 oz strawberry jello)
2 1/4 cup flour
1 1/12 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
3 eggs

Instructions
Preheat over to 350 degrees and grease the bottom only of a 9x13 pan.
Combine thoroughly the strawberries and jello and set aside.
In a mixer combine remaining ingredients and beat for 3 minutes at medium speed.
Pour batter over marshmallows and spoon strawberries over batter.
Bake for 45-50 minutes.
