Gina Crash sat down recently with Paul Grill, kidney donor and Board Chair of the National Kidney Foundation serving Maryland and Delaware, (NKFMDDE), and John Appel, owner of Johnny Dee's Lounge in Towson. They talked about 2 upcoming fundraisers that benefit the NKFMDDE and their personal connections to kidney health awareness.
On World Kidney Day, Thursday, March 12th, the NKFMDDE is hosting the area's premier food & beverage event, Sante: A Taste of Baltimore at the American Visionary Art Museum. Go to kidneymd.org for tickets and more event information.
Johnny Dee's owner John Appel received the community ambassador award at Sante last year for raising over $20,000 for the National Kidney Foundation. Johnny Dee's Lounge is holding its 26th annual Bull and Oyster Roast on Sunday, February 23rd at the Towson American Legion Hall on 125 York Road from 1-6 pm to once again benefit the National Kidney Foundation.
