This week on Spotlight On Maryland, Gina Crash was joined in studio by Bryan Pugh, Executive Director of the Brain Injury Association of Maryland, (BIAMD), and Tom Longest, a Brain Injury Survivor. This year BIAMD celebrates its 40th Anniversary serving Maryland families like Tom's who are confronting the challenges of acquired brain injuries. Tom shared his story and his collaboration with BIAMD including facilitating adaptive yoga classes for individuals with brain injuries and Bryan shared his work that has focused on providing information and assistance to individuals, families, educators, healthcare providers, and policy makers regarding brain injury prevention, treatment, research and supports since 2011.
March is Brain Injury Awareness Month and Bryan talked about the activities going on this month including BIAMD's Maryland Conference being held on March 23-24, 2023 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Baltimore North-Pikesville.
