This week on Spotlight On Maryland, Gina Crash was joined in studio by Hilary Axtmayer, Chief Program Officer of the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp during the week of their ribbon cutting on a new location in Queenstown, Maryland along the shore of the Wye River. The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp was founded in 1988 by Paul Newman in Ashford, Connecticut to give children with serious illnesses the chance to "raise a little hell." Through a variety of of year-round programs offered on-site, in hospitals and clinics, and right in camper homes and communities, they serve thousands of children and family members each year.

The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp's Hospital Outreach Program, (HOP), works with John's Hopkins Children's Center and other partner hospitals in the Mid-Atlantic region to bring the spirit of the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp to children in hospital settings. The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp's Queenstown, Maryland location will begin programming in early May with its first Family Camp welcoming children with sickle cell disease and their families.
