Last week on Spotlight On Maryland, Gina Crash was joined in studio by Jennifer Broderick, LCSW, Executive Director of Bridges to Housing Stability, to talk about their mission and new initiatives including their new Home Share program launching at the end of this month.
Founded in 1990, Bridges to Housing Stability is a non profit dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness through affordable housing solutions and advocacy in Howard County. In the past 12 months, they have served 900 individuals in 305 households, including 453 children. The number of people in Howard County experiencing homelessness continues to increase, due to the ongoing housing crisis, rising eviction rates and increasing rents.
At the end of the month, Bridges to Housing Stability will be launching a new Home Share program to help increase the number of affordable rental options in Howard County. In this program, they will connect homeowners with a spare room in their home to people who need a place to live.
Bridges to Housing Stability offers many opportunities to get involved through volunteering, partnering with their organization and donations. To learn more, visit their website at bridges2hs.org or contact them at 410-312-5760. You can also follow them on Facebook, Instagram, X and LinkedIn.
