On this week’s Spotlight On Maryland, we spoke with Larry Getlan, President of Chestnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Company and Amanda Kodeck, Chief Giving Officer at MileOne Auto Group.
Chestnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Company has been serving Baltimore County since 1956, and is 100% volunteer run. Their members are firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics who live in the same communities they serve. Right now, they are raising money for an advanced life support vehicle, and that’s where MileOneCares steps in. They are donating $250,000 to CRVFC, which is 50% of the fundraising goal. The free family fun event is on Sunday June 4th at 11am at the Chestnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Station! They will have Pit Beef, Snowballs, Fire Engine Rides, CPR and Rescue Demonstrations, Fire Extinguisher Demonstrations, Face-Painting, and More! MileOneCares has been making a difference in our community for more than three decades! Their efforts focus on access to safe transportation and strengthening the community. They have provided more than 10,000 rides to cancer patients going to and from treatment, donated more than 200 vehicles to individuals in need, and provide $1.8 Million in scholarships.
