Last week on Spotlight On Maryland, Gina Crash was joined in studio by Natasha Guynes, Founder & CEO, and Andy Kobus, Board Member of HER Resiliency Center to talk about their mission & powerful new Triple Crown Academy workforce development program. HER is a nonprofit that supports vulnerable young women, (ages 18-25), who have experienced homelessness, trauma, poverty and sexual exploitation providing them with holistic support like case management, workforce training like their Triple Crown Academy for construction trades), mental health workshops and outreach to help them build skills, achieve economic empowerment and make positive life changes.
HER's Triple Crown Academy is a first-of-its-kind workforce development program specially for women aged 18-25 that considers the needs of the whole woman to the benefit of the building trades and our economy as well as the healing of each woman.
Founder & CEO Natasha Guynes brings a deeply personal perspective to the work. She experienced homelessness, trauma and sexual exploitation as a young woman herself. After rebuilding her life, entering recovery and working on Capitol Hill, she founded HER Resiliency Center so that young women in crisis could have the support she once needed-someone who shows up without judgment and helps them build a path toward safety, healing and independence.
