
This week on Spotlight On Maryland, Gina Crash spoke with 4MyCiTy Founder Chris Dipnarine about their focus on the importance of Environmental Sustainability, primarily the Sustainable Management of food in relation to food waste. 4MyCiTy focuses on 4 Primary Phases that when executed successfully creates a ZERO Waste to ZERO Hunger initiative.
Phase 1- Source Reduction: Focusing on reducing food wastage from the Wholesale and Retail distribution industry.
Phase 2- Feed the Hungry: Focuses on Eliminating Hunger within our communities through effective rescued food distributions.
Phase 3- Industrial/Commercial Use: Focuses on creating bio-degradable products or renewable energy through the utilization of food waste.
Phase 4- Composting: Focuses on reducing the harmful effects of organic waste on our environment though their advanced composting technologies.
Since the non-profit organization was founded in 2018, 4MyCiTy has distributed over 125 million pounds of food to families facing hunger, that's an estimated 104 million meals served.
