
This week on Spotlight on Maryland, Gina Crash spoke with Leah Paley, Executive Director of Laurel Advocacy & Referral Services, Inc., (LARS). LARS' mission is to enable homeless and low-income people in Laurel, MD who are in crisis to achieve stability and long-term self-sufficiency.
Their services include a food pantry, financial assistance, homeless services, permanent supportive housing and their Self-Sufficiency Program. Their service area includes parts of Prince George's zip codes 20707 and 20708, Howard County zip code 20723 and Anne Arundel County zip code 20724.
Leah and Gina spoke about the increased need for rental and food assistance during the pandemic and the upcoming challenges once the eviction moratorium is lifted. Leah also shared how COVID-19 has impacted their operations and team.
