This week on Spotlight On Maryland, Gina Crash caught up with Olive Waxter, Executive Director of The Hippodrome Foundation, Inc., (HFI), and Ron Legler, President of the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center.
Olive spoke about the Hippodrome Foundation's mission and what they have been doing during the shutdown, including their "At the Stage" program that provides free virtual workshops any Maryland teacher can use. She also talked about HFI's Summer plans this year, including Camp Hippodrome.
Ron talked about HFI's partnership with Broadway Across America, what has happened with the theater since Governor Hogan's Executive Order that shutdown the theater at the start of the pandemic including working on a re-opening plan with Dr. Joe Allen, Harvard professor and Director of the Healthy Buildings Program. Ron also shared information about an exciting new capital project that will provide a new space by renovating and finishing their fourth building.
