Last week on Spotlight On Maryland, Gina Crash spoke via phone with Dr. Taofeek K. Owonikoko, Executive Director of the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center, (UMGCCC), to talk about the Maryland Half Marathon & 5K coming up Saturday, June 1st in Maple Lawn, Howard County benefiting UMGCCC, one of the country's top cancer treatment and research centers enhancing the quality of cancer care in Maryland and beyond.

Dr. Taofeek is also the Senior Associate Dean of Cancer Programs at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and Associate Vice President of Cancer Programs at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. He will be participating in the Race that supports vital research and patient care at UMGCCC. The Maryland Half Marathon & 5K is an opportunity for the community to come together in support of UMGCCC's mission to discover better treatments, improve patient care, and ultimately save lives.
