This week On Spotlight On Maryland, Gina Crash was joined in studio by Janna Howley, Executive Director of the Maryland Wine Association, (MWA), and Melissa Aellen, MWA Board President, to talk about their mission, impact on agritourism and their recently released Maryland 2025 Vintage Report.

The MWA is a non-profit, 501(c)6 trade organization representing Maryland's commercial wineries and focused on promoting Maryland wine. Founded in 1984, the MWA's mission is to develop and expand the grape and wine industry in Maryland-through education and promotion.

Janna and Melissa talked extensively about how the climate and geography of Maryland influences the characteristics of the wine produced here and how last year's climate and growing conditions affected this year's vintage quality and grape yields.
