This week on Spotlight On Maryland, Gina Crash was joined in studio by Carter Polakoff, President & CEO, and Rachel Demma, VP of Learning & Community Impact at Port Discovery in Baltimore to talk about their two new cutting-edge exhibits-Galactic Builders and SKIES that just opened in October. The museum celebrated it's 25th anniversary last year when they launched a 5-year, $20 million Exhibit Master Plan that will completely reimagine and modernize the museum. The opening of these 2 new exhibits is the first major step in the transformation.

As a children's museum, Port Discovery's mission includes supporting families with young children in Baltimore City and throughout the state with opportunities to play and learn together, and serving as a meaningful community resource.

Galactic Builders provides Hands-On STEM play that challenges kids to think like real scientists and engineers-testing designs, solving problems, and working together to build rocket ships, rovers and more. SKIES provides the counterpoint: a calm, sensory-friendly environment where kids and families can recharge, practice mindfulness, and be inspired by nature's skies from sunrise to sunset.
