Based in Harford Country, the mission of the Maryland Center for the Visual and Performing Arts, Inc. (MDCFA) is to provide a broad range of creative and collaborative experiences in quality education, presentations, and exhibits in all disciplines of the arts; and to build and operate a visual and performing arts center for the region to have greater access to quality spaces to exhibit, present, and participate in the arts.

They're coming up with creative ways to fundraise this summer which features their next event "Art is Brewing" which will take place at MaGerk's Pub in Bel Air on Wednesday, June 17th from 7:00 to 9:00pm. It's your chance to toast to the arts with a five-course dinner, craft beers, live music and an auction.

In the Fall, take part in the 7th Annual Harford Plein Air Festival in mid to late September. The main dates for the festival are September 17th, with the gallery exhibition beginning on September 22nd. This year, Maryland First Lady Yumi Hogan will judge part of the competition for the first time.

This event will be shared online with an in-person exhibition, judging, and celebration, depending upon COVID-19 restrictions. All juried artists will paint between July 1 and September 6, submitting time-stamped photos of their work for an online blog. Juried artists may submit a maximum of five paintings for award consideration; artists residing beyond the Harford County area may enter a maximum of two works (of the five total) painted outside Harford County for Honorable Mention award consideration only. All other paintings for consideration must be painted in Harford County.
