This week on Spotlight On Baltimore, Austin Todd spoke with Bernard Gyebi-Foster, Executive Director of Tuerk House. They had the chance to discuss their 50th anniversary, the grand opening of the Andre Kennedy Center for Integrated Behavioral Health & Urgent Care, and what they hope to accomplish in 2022 and beyond.
Located at the Tuerk House main campus at 730 Ashburton Street in West Baltimore, the Andre Kennedy Center for Integrated Behavioral Health & Urgent Care opened their doors on December 1st, and will serve as a valuable new resource for the local community to access outpatient therapy and treatment for mental health disorders, medication-assisted therapy for substance use disorders, and walk-in medical care for non-emergent illnesses and injuries. Beyond mental health, clients at The Andre Kennedy Center will also have access to walk-in urgent medical services for minor illnesses and injuries, including COVID-19 testing, lab services, such as rapid plasma regain (RPR), STI testing, HIV testing, and other routine lab tests.

With the opening of The Andre Kennedy Center, Tuerk House builds upon its legacy as a pioneer in substance abuse treatment by now offering more comprehensive services and resources to address a wide range of mental health and medical issues for adults and adolescents. The center offers evaluations for all mental health concerns, including: anger issues, anxiety, behavioral concerns, depression, grief and loss, relationship issues and family conflicts, trauma disorders, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, and more.
