This week on Spotlight On Maryland, Gina Crash was joined in studio by Amanda Kodeck, MileOne Autogroup's Chief Giving Officer, and Valencia Hike, ShareBaby's Operations Director, to talk about how together, MileOneCares and ShareBaby distributed 300 new car seats to families in need through its car seat education and distribution program. MileOneCares is the philanthropic division of Heritage and MileOne Autogroup, and ShareBaby is a Baltimore-based non-profit organization that provides support to vulnerable children through the distribution of diapers and other essential items.
On November 14, 2023, families representing 15 of ShareBaby's community partners participated in the program this year, (7 participated in the program last year). Families learned how to properly install their car seats with help from Maryland Kids in Safety Seats, (KISS), a state-wide program with the mission to reduce injuries and deaths among Maryland's children by helping people obtain and use car seats and booster seats.
