PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – After getting a veteran quarterback on the cheap, the Steelers are reportedly signing the Ravens stud linebacker to a big contract.
It was first reported by ESPN’s Marcus Spears that Patrick Queen will sign a three-year deal worth $41 million.
It’s an area of need with the Steelers losing Kwon Alexander as a free agent and linebacker Cole Holcomb will miss at least part of the season with a severe knee injury.
The 24-year-old Queen was the Ravens first-round pick in 2020 and has had three 100-tackle seasons and the other was 98. Last year, Queen finished with 133 tackles, 84 solo (third in the NFL) with nine tackles for loss, six quarterback hits, an interception, forced fumble and six passes defensed.
Pro Football Focus ranked him as the 24th best linebacker in the game with his coverage skills being the highest rated of his tools. That would mix with current linebacker Elandon Roberts, who is know as more of a downhill thumper, like second-year linebacker Mark Robinson.
