An arrest has been made in an Upstate cold case murder four decades after the fact. The Greenville County Sheriff's Office says the body of 18 year old, Chelsie Moss was found in the woods off of Fair Street in Greenville in 1986.
Officials suspected foul play and her death was ruled a homicide. The case went cold until three years ago when the Cold Case Unit was able to identify the suspect through forensic DNA testing. On Tuesday, investigators announced that 64 year old Ronnie Lee Williams has been charged for the murder of Chelsie Moss.
Williams is already serving prison time after being convicted of another murder in 1989.
Sheriff Hobart Lewis says the Cold Case Unit has now solved 16 murder cases since its inception.
