An Oconee County man and volunteer youth sports coach is facing charges after an alleged home renovation went wrong. The Oconee County Sheriff's Office says Kenneth Edward Kaliski of West Union was arrested over the weekend. He's charged with grand larceny, breach of trust with fraudulent intent, and unlawful use of name on a contractor's license.

The arrest report says, that Kaliski collected over 29,000 dollars from the victims to do a 45,000 dollar renovation project at their home in the Cliffs At Keowee Falls Subdivision near Salem. Kaliski is accused of failing to complete the work and doing some of the work improperly.

The Sheriff's Office says, the victims later stated their research showed that Kaliski was not licensed to do the work at the time and that his contractor's license had previously been suspended.

In addition to being a self employed contractor Kaliski has been involved in coaching youth sports teams around Oconee County, over the years which included a travel basketball program called K.E. Elite which he named after himself.
