A disgraced former Upstate lawman has been sentenced to federal prison. Former Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright has been sentenced to 41 months behind bars. Wright had already pleaded guilty to wire fraud, conspiracy and other charges.
The U.S. Attorney's Office said during the sentencing hearing, that Wright abused his position and broke the public's trust by siphoning money from County funds. Wright's co-conspirators Amos Durham and LB Watson are expected to be sentenced later this week.
There's no parole or early release in the federal prison system
