It was "full metal mayhem" in the Midlands as a suspected drunk driver knocked a pedestrian off a bridge during a weekend collision. The Columbia Police Department says the crash happened on a bridge there just before 8PM, Sunday.
Officials say, 30 year old William Joseph Livingston was driving an SUV when he hit a curb, crossed multiple lanes of traffic and crashed into a pedestrian. The impact knocked the victim over the railing of the bridge and he fell down onto the riverbank.
The pedestrian has miraculously survived but did suffer serious injuries. There's been no further update on the victim's condition.
Livingston is charged with DUI causing great bodily injury, he's being held on a million dollar bond.
