Governor Henry McMaster's son, Henry McMaster Jr., took to X on Friday to address speculation about becoming Pam Evette's running mate in South Carolina's governor's race. The post comes after President Trump endorsed Evette and hinted that McMaster Jr. would be running with her as the next Lt. Governor.
In the post, McMaster Jr. wrote in part, "I've been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from friends, neighbors, colleagues, and even strangers encouraging me to run for public office, but now is simply not the right time for me to be considered for lieutenant governor."
Evette's campaign has not officially announced a running mate, as of the time of this report.
