SLED has charged former Camden Military Academy Dean with Child sex crimes after a now-adult victim has come forward over a decade later. 55-year-old John Anthony Heflin was charged arrested Thursday and is charged with 2nd degree Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor in and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.
According to arrest warrants, Heflin provided alcohol to the then 14-year-old victim in July of 2014. Warrants allege that he then forced the victim to have sex with him on two separate occasions. Heflin was 43 at the time and was working as a teacher at Camden Military Academy.
He was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center in Horry County, but has since been released on bond.
