The Greenville County Coroner's Office says a teaching assistant whose body was found in woods near her home Monday, had taken her own life.
The body of 55 year old, Rebecca Chudoba Beets was found in a wooded area off of Novelty Drive in Greer. Neighbors in the subdivision told investigators she was last seen walking along that road on Saturday.
Sheriff's Deputies say a drone that had been deployed in the search found her body. Autopsy results conclude that she had shot herself with the weapon recovered from the scene.
The Greenville School District says Beets was a preschool special education assistant at Greenview Child Development Center.
