Everyone made it out safely after a well-involved house fire broke out on Rosemary Circle in Anderson County shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday night, June 16, 2026. Anderson Fire Department officials say initial reports suggested at least one person was still inside, but crews quickly confirmed all residents had escaped.
Firefighters also rescued several pets from the single-story home.
According to the South Carolina Department of Public Health, in 2024 there were 54 residential fires reported resulting in 60 deaths. Thankfully, no injuries were reported with this fire while the cause remains under investigation.
The SCDPH also offers Safety Tips in order to prevent house fires:
- Install a smoke alarm on each floor of your home and one outside each bedroom.
- Check the alarms every month to ensure they're working properly.
- Teach children that matches and lighters are for adult use only.
- Have a fire evacuation route in place at your home and practice it regularly.
The American Red Cross was called in to assist the Rosemary Circle family displaced by the fire. The organization says seven lives are claimed each day in the United States due to house fires.
The National Fire Protection Association, estimates that a working smoke alarm can reduce the risk of death in a residential fire by 60%.
