Trump's trip the Upstate proved to be somewhat tumultuous. The Republican campaign event in the Upstate last night featuring President Trump saw it's share of heated moments. The Anderson County Sheriff's Office says, two incidents reports were filed following the rally.
Trump took the stage shortly after 7pm and was interrupted by protesters almost immediately. Moments later another disturbance in the crowd led to punches being thrown. An assault report was filed stemming from the punches. That came after a deputy responded to Anmed Hospital where an alleged victim reported that he was put in a choke hold and was punched by an unknown suspect during the rally.
The incident is being classified as 3rd degree assault. The Sheriff's Office says that another arrest was made prior to the event starting. They report that 56 year old Christina Michelle Stokes was arrested for trespassing after she was told to leave and failed to do so.
Those are the only two incident reports filed from the event, as of the time of this report. Officials say that others were ejected from the event, however the exact number of people ejected remains unclear, at this time.
