Duke Energy is telling Upstate residents not be alarmed, if they hear sirens. The company is set to run tests of its siren system at Oconee Nuclear Station, Wednesday. The full volume test will last 3 minutes and is set to take place between 11AM and 1PM.
The tests are just to ensure the sirens are working correctly. Officials say there are more than 60 warning sirens within a 10 mile radius from the Nuclear plant. Again the sirens set for tomorrow, are just a test of the system.
