Two suspects including the father are facing charges after a Western North Carolina toddler suffered serious injuries. The Henderson County Sheriff's Office says they were alerted last Thursday that a 22 month old child had sustained severe injuries.
The child's father 30 year old, Hector Romero Castillo was arrested Friday after fleeing to Louisiana. Castillo is charged with felony child abuse. Another suspect 35 year old, Lorena Rodriguez Granados was also arrested on charges of accessory after the fact and obstruction of justice.
As of Sunday afternoon, officials reported that the child remained in critical condition.
