The search for the suspect wanted in connection to a murder in Western North Carolina continues and the reward for info leading to his arrest has been increased. The U.S. Marshals say 43 year old, Jonathan Petty is charged in a 2024 murder case in Cleveland County.
Authorities say those in Western North Carolina and the Upstate should keep their eyes peeled for Petty. He reportedly has family and friends in Cleveland, Rutherford, Gaston and Buncombe Counties, along with ties to the Upstate in Spartanburg and Greenville Counties.
Petty is described as a black male standing about 6 feet and weighing about 200 pounds. Petty is considered armed and dangerous and the reward for his arrest has been increased to $6,000.
