The victim in an Upstate murder has now been identified nearly three months later.
Back in August of this year, authorities responded to Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care, where a man, now identified as 65-year-old Rufus Samuel Locklear, was reported dead.
Locklear was taken to that facility after an incident at a home in June .An investigation was then launched after an autopsy led to the death being ruled a homicide.
The suspect, Lance Cantrell, was originally arrested on assault charges, those charges have been upgraded since Locklear's death. Cantrell was Locklear’s roommate and said an argument between the two is what led to the altercation.
Cantrell has been denied bond and is expected back in court in February.
